Sui Generis Community

To maintain a balance between being true to yourself and being part of a group is not always, or perhaps rarely, an easy thing to do. Many of us find it impossible to fulfill the functions of being part of society without compromising our own integrity in some way. We need to find a way to fulfill both obligations, for both are essential. In my experience this involves embracing what I sometimes call "paradoxical thinking," and liken it to sitting on the tail of a dragon.

Sui Generis believes that it is not necessary to do this alone and that a balance between originality and diversity is not undermined by cultivating it with the support of others. Being part of a sui-generis community is an acknowledgment of the value of originality and diversity, and being part of a community of people who also see its value and receiving support from them. This brings up the benefit of networking, i.e. relating to and communicating with others who value and support individuality and creativity, who care for the world we live in, and who are living their lives according to the principles of Xenn Polarity.

Sui Generis introduces and represents the beginning of an exciting new way of seeing and dealing with the world using the lens or framework of Xenn Polarity. Xenn Polarity promises to open new avenues of cooperation with ourselves and each other, and to offer higher levels of understanding, freedom and creativity. Membership in a sui-generis community offers an opportunity to understand the principles and dynamics of Xenn Polarity and an encouragement to live these out. It also offers the opportunity to support this endeavor in your own way.

Being a part of a community has in the past involved a compromise of one's own integrity, at least to a certain extent. In order for that not to be the case here, being part of a sui-generis community involves no expectations that are set down. All involvement is completely voluntary. What each person offers and receives, is determined by their own inner wisdom and integrity. At the same time, to be true to what this community stands for and believes, whatever activity occurs needs to be in accord with the principles of Xenn Polarity, which prevents things from going to any extreme and keeps things within the boundaries of the living and breathing.

The primary activity of a sui-generis community exists in the metaphysical realm, that is, the realm of feelings, thoughts and ideas, as well as deeper dimensions as faith, hope, meaning, and such. Those who are part of this community have decided within themselves that its goals have value and its foundations are solid, and they want to live their lives in accordance with its principles and understandings. In other words, it has a membership that in normal terms is primarily unknown and invisible as well as being visible. That does not mean it is ineffective or has no substance. On the contrary, the substance it aims for is more substantial than any other visible community.

The support we seek, to do the things spoken of above, is there for us in the knowledge that others are on the same path, yet fully knowing it is a completely different path. By engaging in another way of thinking and knowing, the normal difficulties and challenges we encounter are transformed. They are now seen through different eyes and are no longer the same. Those who see with these new eyes are there to support others on the same level at which these eyes function.

If this speaks to you, and you are hearing what most ears can't hear, you may want to consider becoming part of such a community. There are no dues or fees other than what you would like to contribute. There is nothing to sign or agree to, except in your own mind, within your own convictions, and out of your own volition. Any activities that are done depend on the initiative and interest of the members of the sui-generis community. Members are not required but are encouraged to get personally involved and to be a part of the exciting process of developing a model of society based on the principles of Xenn Polarity. It is an opportunity to practice uniqueness and creativity while laying the foundations for a society that helps others do the same.

You can become part of a sui-generis community and remain completely invisible, for that is an essential nature of this membership. You can receive from this website and from others on another level what supports and sustains you. The principles of Xenn Polarity are always in effect however and you may be asked by your own inner voice to contribute something back for what you have received. This inner voice will be your guide in what form that will take, and who will be the beneficiary. It will not coerce you, just as there is no coercion from within the sui-generis community. But if you do not respond to your inner voice (i.e. be true to yourself), my understanding is, that you will lose contact with it. Along with that you will invisibly and automatically lose the invisible connection with the community. These things go just the way they are supposed to go whether we like it or not. We can take advantage of this and receive it as a gift, or we can go against it and reap the consequences. The choice is ours.

This last paragraph may have sounded strange and perhaps harsh to you, and if so, that may be a combination of my lack of skill in expressing it and/or your disinterest in working with what Sui Generis deals with. Hopefully you will see through my own personal ineptness to view a reality greater than both of us. If so, consider becoming a member of a sui-generis community. If in the process you are guided to contribute in developing the knowledge inherent in the school, further the understanding of the principles of Xenn Polarity, or getting involved in a project of some sort, initiating something of your own, or lastly, just to contribute financially, contact us. Otherwise, another aspect of your reality or surroundings may need your help or assistance, and you may be guided to be there for that. Whatever may be your call, I encourage you to respond.

Finally, I want to say something about the rich possiblities inherent within Sui Generis. When people come together, people such as those within a sui-generis community who are in a class by themselves, who remain humble and are not affected by their talents and abilities by becoming proud, conceited or disdainful, something magical can happen, and there is the definite possibility of something new being created. What will be created is never adequately known beforehand, but the tension that lives between the participants will spark the creative juices that live within each of them. What emerges from each encounter and interaction is something that is greater than what any one of them could manifest by him or herself. It takes each of the participants to a level that they may at times have experienced with others before, but the benefit or result of being there is always new, surprising, edifying and transforming. Experiencing this is a gift that is not forgotten, especially when the initial components or ingredients of that gift are individuals as rich as they are. Those who have experienced it speak of it as central in their lives, one that gives meaning and relevance to all other experiences.

It is quite well known that these kind of experiences are often given to those who have dedicated their lives to the service of others. This kind of work, more than most, enables us to transcend the worldly part of us, come from and express our true selves, and commune with those whose lives we are involved with. This is one way we can come to see and understand the richness and potential of Sui Generis. It speaks of levels of being described in the New Testament using the Greek word "metanoia," and referred to as the kingdom of God.

It is my hope and intention that the sui-generis community will be a place of encouragement and support for reaching these levels of understanding and being, and that it will provide the groundwork and set the stage for the growth of individuals and communities to be able to live on that level on a more consistent basis.
